Bryleigh
There
is no Etymology for the name Bryleigh. Much like the woman that is Bryleigh,
there is no single definition, no normal box to be placed into. I am
inquisitive. I am genuine; a woman of many talents, convictions, and
aspirations. Undoubtedly influenced by my past and present choices, both
advantageous and detrimental, a path formed. Along that path resides the people
who have helped me create the wonderful outline of the woman I wish to be, and
for that, they are held in the highest point of my heart.
Simply put, I am a 21 year old college junior with Native American heritage. I grew up in a small town in Texas outside of Dallas. Being raised with horses, cows, chickens, goats, and a herd of dogs with daily chores, and taking care of the animals made me a country girl at heart. I won numerous medals jumping, showing, and eventually barrel racing my Appaloosa. It’s this lifestyle and milieu that also made me yearn for the big city and the finer things in life.
After high school, I was accepted into the University of Texas with my academic scores (ACT/SAT Exam) ranking in the top 2% of the nation. It was then I realized I am a talented woman who has the abilities to do great things with my life. My chosen major is Marketing although I continue to change my mind between Finance and Marketing as a career on an almost weekly basis. Recently after receiving my acceptance letter this summer, I chose to continue my studies this school year in California. I feel I will always be a Longhorn and Texan at heart. My love for continuing education and my understanding of how important it is in today work force, will eventually lead to a graduate degree.
The hobby has taken me across the country, circling the globe twice in airline miles. Internationally I have visited Europe, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and the Middle East being the most wonderful trip of all. My favorite U.S. city to visit is most definitely NYC. I love seeing shows on Broadway, bar hopping in the Meat Packing District, and touring the famous and influential art works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art & MoMA. Not to mention my days in NYC always end with dining at the most delicious restaurants or a good ole dirty water dog. During my first trip to Boston, I visited the beautiful campus of Harvard University and later ate the best seafood dinner I’ve ever had in my short 21 years. In Chicago, I got to celebrate the Blackhawks win of the Stanley Cup and watch the victory parade down Michigan Avenue. My visit to D.C. led me to two Smithsonian Museum. Houston has shown me the best steakhouses in the entire South. Although I live in San Francisco now, Dallas is where I call home and always enjoy the time I get to spend with my animals. I look forward to many more visits and adding a few new stops to my calendar this year. When I’m not traveling, I love to read non fiction novels. The works of authors Jack Kerouac and The Dalai Lama have significantly impacted my view of life. Now and then I go back to the old farm at my family’s property to see the countryside and see my trusty old steed.
It's these many facets of my past and present coming together that are making me into the woman I am today. The opposite side of that spectrum? No one, not even I, know what I'm destined for.
